I hold the record for least amount of time before a deadline, I do think. Anyway:
This is my (hopefully not late) entry for 's contest. If it is late, then it's just some lame "Changi" fanart!
My idea for this changed so many freaking times, it's not even funny. At first, I wanted to do a comic-like-thing. But, I suck at those, so I decided to do a single image. But that had a poop joke, and I JUST made an art with it (Changi and Aromatic compounds and her kitty tray. Yeah, I'm immature). Then, I wanted to draw one of my dragon-dudes in there, but I couldn't figure out how. I messed with different poses and whatnot, and SCREWED UP each and every one of them. And then, I got art-block so I took a break. I finally arrived at this. It's not very good; it's rather empty; the composition on the whole sucks, but it's my entry.
I decided to try a different shading tech - making lots of circular motions with my pencil and then rubbing it up with a tissue. I rather like it; I think I'll use that from now on. Plus, my hands don't get AS messy!
Also - Drawing the REAL Frankie was fun!! (Not too sure about his makings, though). If you can't read it, Changi is thinking "I'm surrounded by FRANKIES! ....And one of them is way overgrown"
"Changi" and Frankie, the cool lizard dude, are owned by . "Isaac" is MINE
Haha, don't worry, I waited until this morning really for the "deadline" so everyone in all time zones would have a chance to get in!
I was going to say before I read the artists comments that I liked the shading on this, that it looked "softer" and blended.
Your Frankie drawing looks more like Frankie than my Frankie drawings. Yours has the right head shape and everything! Plus his expression. The IRL Frankie always looks like he has a slight smile. The expression on the Isaac makes me smile. He looks like he enjoys making Changi make that face! I notice the shading by his mouth too...actually the shading of the whole head, it really suggests the skull in there. Or something. I JUST woke up and I'm only halfway through my coffee...it now hard make words good.

Ahh! I was interesting in seeing how you would do this and, looking at it, it's so YOU. You really have a certain style and I can especially see it in the way you drew Changi herself. I like how her ears are down! Frankie looks so cute and and the shading on Isaac is great.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
